CROWBOT

Initial Release · terms version 10

Access, purchase and refund terms

These plain-English terms describe CrowBot's staged introduction and the access, usage and recovery conditions for existing purchases. They are general product terms, not legal advice.

Updated 1 October 2026 · Prices are in Australian dollars (AUD).

Creature-time packs and memberships are available through a signed-in CrowBot account. No purchase is needed for the introduction. Existing purchasers keep the access and unused balances promised when they bought them.

Supplier and product

CrowBot is operated by an Australian individual. For any enabled payment, Stripe Checkout and the Stripe receipt identify the merchant for that transaction. Do not continue if the merchant or amount displayed by Stripe does not match the offer you intend to buy.

The Initial Release contains one consistent classic three-eyed CrowBot, the original purple-and-black Sleep scene, and the accepted slightly pixelated daytime Lab. The foreground-only Lab is the visible surface of local brain capture/consolidation and never calls a model. Dream journeys, alternative scenes, the persistent Village, and the two-servo body are not included.

CrowBot is experimental entertainment software. AI output can be inaccurate, misleading, or unsuitable. CrowBot is not a person, emergency service, babysitter, or professional adviser, and must not be relied on for health, mental-health, legal, financial, relationship, business, safety-critical, or other professional decisions.

One staged 30-minute introduction

Welcome, hatching and sensor setup use no introduction time. Account creation is optional during the free experience. After setup, the staged introduction provides 30 minutes of real interaction in consecutive five-, ten- and fifteen-minute stages. Creating an account preserves the same crow and carries used time into the account allowance; creating, buying or changing access does not refill it. You may buy access before the free introduction ends or choose an available paid option to continue afterward.

Elapsed trial timeIncluded routeImportant boundary
0–5 minutesThe same configured zero-priced CrowBot AI text/vision route used throughout the introduction, plus the configured CrowBot Free Models voice when available, optional Raven speech generated on your device, and Groq listening only when verified free-tier capacity is enabled. The stage does not promise a different text-model quality. No paid OpenRouter or paid Groq route is permitted.
5–15 minutesThe same configured zero-priced CrowBot AI text/vision route when available, plus browser or operating-system speech recognition and voice.Included generated voice, Raven and Groq listening stop after the first five minutes.
15–30 minutesThe same configured zero-priced CrowBot AI text/vision route when available, plus browser or operating-system speech recognition and voice. No Crow-paid premium provider call is included in this phase.

Connecting your own provider or a compatible local model is part of an independently owned CrowBot installation, not this hosted service. Provider availability, rate limits, browser support, and network conditions can reduce what is available. After 30 minutes the app locks unless purchased creature time, active membership, lifetime access, an existing Initial Release licence, gift, tester, owner, or recovery entitlement unlocks it.

Autonomy and Sleep permissions

Autonomous free-roam activity is off by default and requires a separate, versioned permission stored in that browser profile. When enabled in this web release, CrowBot can initiate thoughts, speech, songs, questions, and fresh camera looks only while the CrowBot page is visible and access is otherwise permitted. You can turn free roam off immediately.

Stage 1 can play the accepted daytime Lab only while CrowBot is open, after meaningful experience, and under its daily/cooldown limits. Lab performs local processing without calling a model. Reflection uses its separately configured, consented foreground job; the lifetime Community preserves archived lives and has its own access and privacy rules. Changing Sleep time does not create extra full sleeps: CrowBot records at most one completed deep Sleep for the applicable local sleep day, with a minimum separation between full Sleep events.

Ordinary browsers suspend or throttle hidden pages. The web release therefore does not listen, watch, speak, call a model, or promise continuous AI work while hidden. Chronological age and the configured schedule catch up locally when the page is reopened. Any later installed-device background mode must identify its own limits and obtain a separate explicit permission before it is enabled.

Hosted access and separate future options

Creature access

Creature time is A$3 for 15 minutes, A$4.99 for 30 minutes, A$7.99 for 60 minutes or A$14.99 for 180 minutes. Bought time stays with the account, runs while the awake crow face is open, including quiet moments, and pauses in menus or away from the app, never expires by date and provides the base experience without membership. Membership is A$30 each month or A$200 each year and provides hosted access during each verified paid period. Membership and lifetime access are separate from metered premium usage. Neither includes unlimited provider usage, a physical body or separate products.

The old A$30 one-time Initial Release licence is no longer sold. Existing purchasers retain exactly the access promised when they bought it.

Premium usage

New premium purchases are not available yet. Existing Premium Voice purchases remain subject to the pricing and use conditions below. Premium usage never unlocks creature access by itself.

Physical CrowBot body

The body is a future, separate product and is not available to buy. It is not included with CrowBot access or provider usage. Its contents, phone requirements, final delivered price and fulfilment estimate must be disclosed before any purchase.

Membership and creature-time checkout opens from the signed-in account. CrowBot and Stripe show the price and billing interval before payment. The independently owned source package has its own checkout in Own and host CrowBot yourself. Its founder offer is A$150 for the first 100 distinct purchasers, with no closing date. A completed purchase provides a verified download of the pinned CrowBot source, artwork and setup package, hosted with the purchaser's own infrastructure and provider accounts; it does not add hosted lifetime access. No standard package offer is configured after those places are exhausted. New Premium Voice purchases and the physical body remain separate and unavailable here.

Membership billing and cancellation

Standard membership is A$30 each month or A$200 each year. The first 100 distinct paying member accounts retain A$15/month or A$100/year on renewals. Eligibility and remaining places are checked before checkout; unpaid checkout reservations are temporary and do not count as purchases. The optional personal-provider add-on costs those same founder accounts A$1/month or A$12/year on renewals; later members pay A$5/month or A$60/year. It requires active membership and verified paid add-on coverage. Supplier usage charges with a personal provider belong to the customer. Existing paid periods and historical invoices retain their agreed contracts. Stripe shows the selected recurring prices before you pay, and no add-on is added without your choice. Membership renews automatically at the selected interval until you cancel renewal in your account’s “Manage or cancel membership” control.

Membership provides creature access during a verified paid period. Provider charges and separately metered premium usage are additional; no unlimited paid-provider allowance, lifetime ownership, body or separate product is included. A monthly-to-yearly change is reviewed in Stripe with its charge and credit before confirmation; a yearly-to-monthly change takes effect at the end of the paid yearly period.

The included managed membership brain uses CrowBot AI. You may choose Use Creature Time for the smarter managed brain, then Return to membership to preserve unused time. The existing foreground interaction accounting charges only consumed time from the selected balance. Personal-provider access is a different, optional paid add-on; it requires both current membership and current verified add-on coverage. When either ends, saved provider choices and credentials are retained but cannot execute through that feature.

Genuine member founders also retain the currently offered optional prices: the four Creature Time packs above, Premium Voice's stated first-and-additional-minute formula, and five community trade credits for A$3. Those price rights do not include the purchases or activate an unavailable checkout. Included community items remain included; no price is invented for unpriced premium items or voice packs. The independent source founder offer uses its separate purchaser allocation.

Cancelling renewal preserves access until the paid period ends. A failed or incomplete payment does not extend that period; use membership management to update payment details or complete the payment, then check membership again. Only a verified payment restores or extends paid access. Cancelling, renewing, changing plans or reactivating never starts or refills the account’s one introduction.

When membership ends, your same account, creature, memories, saved settings and unused purchased time remain. Retained creature time or any remaining introduction can continue under their existing limits. A verified full refund removes access from the affected paid period; an open or lost dispute suspends that period, and a resolved dispute restores it only if its payment and dates still qualify. Consumer rights below remain unchanged.

Existing Premium Voice pricing and use

The retail formula is A$1.99 for the first paid minute plus A$0.75 for each additional minute in the same checkout. The 1-, 5-, 15-, and 30-minute totals are A$1.99, A$4.99, A$12.49, and A$23.74. Checkout opens only on an environment with the matching verified Stripe catalogue and provider controls. CrowBot and Stripe Checkout must show the same complete AUD total before payment; if they differ, stop rather than paying.

Account, licence slots, offline use and recovery

Your account uses email and a password you choose, with email password recovery. Passkeys are optional. The account owns its creature and introduction; signing in on another device or recovering a password does not create another introduction.

One lifetime or existing Initial Release licence belongs to one customer account and supports up to two active browser/device installations. Several accounts can use one device but do not share entitlement. A different browser/profile or cleared site data can use another licence slot; revoke an old installation online to free one. Membership is tied to its signed-in account and does not create a permanent licence or permanent licence slots.

Paid online access and paid offline authorization are different. An eligible browser/device installation can receive a signed, device-bound offline authorization valid for up to 30 days. Membership authorization also ends no later than its verified paid period. Reconnect before expiry to verify access and renew the authorization. The authorization itself is not a subscription. Remote providers, checkout, recovery, revocation checks, web search, and renewal require a network connection; offline AI requires a compatible local or reachable private model. A cancellation, refund or dispute cannot invalidate an already issued offline authorization until that device reconnects or its fixed authorization expires.

Save the account’s one-use recovery codes and the separate licence recovery code outside browser storage. CrowBot stores hashes only. Clearing site data can remove the local brain, device key, and offline authorization; the synchronized text brain remains account-owned and exports remain yours.

Payment, fulfilment, refunds and disputes

Checkout is hosted by Stripe. A returned checkout page is not, by itself, proof of fulfilment: CrowBot verifies the successful payment before showing a licence or Premium Voice balance. If checkout returns but access is still being confirmed, use “Check access again” and do not make a duplicate purchase.

No general change-of-mind refund is promised. That does not limit rights for a faulty, unsafe, unavailable, or misdescribed supply. A verified successful full refund of an app-licence purchase ends its online licence access and renewal; a signed offline authorization already issued can remain usable only until its fixed expiry. A verified full refund of a Premium Voice purchase removes unused time and stops a related active reservation. An open payment dispute can temporarily suspend the affected entitlement while Stripe determines the outcome.

Australian Consumer Law rights remain
